Far too many people put excessive pressure on themselves by trying to accomplish too much at once without giving themselves the needed time and energy. If we want true long-term happiness and fulfillment, we should aim for progress over perfection and start to break our goals down into achievable tasks.

Setting realistic goals for yourself is the key here. When you set your sights on something that’s too overwhelming, it often distracts and discourages you from achieving the more attainable goals that are just as meaningful.

Just think of it this way: if you take the time to put your phone away, turn off the TV and all other potential distractions, how amazing will it feel to truly put your attention on things that are important to you? This is not just a power move when it comes to actually getting things done. It’s also motivational — having the willpower and determination to stay laser-focused on something until its completion will give you a huge sense of achievement and confidence in yourself. So get ready for a big boost in productivity and self-assurance — banish all distractions.

Find a support system – tell your friends and family about your goals so they can help you stay on track

It’s so important to let those closest to us know about our goals and aspirations – if we don’t, we are holding ourselves back from achieving great things. We must power through moments of self-doubt and lack of motivation, but with a strong support system on our side cheering us on, this can be much easier.
